A. G. Church School/Dhaka
There are approximately 180 days in a School Year. A child is most likely to make maximum education progress if he/she attends as regularly as possible. As regular attendance is very important, only reasons of illness of student, accident or death of a family member will be considered as excused. When the child returns to school after being absent, the Class Teacher must be shown in writing the reason for the absence signed by a parent in the section for absence provided in the School Diary, whether the leave is excused or unexcused. When a guardian knows of an upcoming absence, an application must be submitted to the school authority one-week in advance of the time of absence. Approval for such leave is at the school’s discretion. Failure to do so results in a failing grade. Repeated unexcused absence may result in detention and / or cancellation of seat.
As the school is using Digital System for Attendance so the computer record is the final.
In the event of an excused absence, a student will be given a reasonable amount of time to make up the work missed. An absence does not excuse the student from work or tests. It is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements with the teacher(s) for make-up work; otherwise, a failing grade will be recorded. In the case of semester test, no make -up tests will be allowed for absences excused or unexcused. Excessive absence may indicate the need for a child to repeat a grade level.
